All later model Coleman Rooftop AC's that use the wall thermostats should have the incoming 110 wiring checked. We have found, and Coleman has said that the lugs on the circuit boards are not tight enough. This causes arching at the board, and it will burn out. The incoming wiring and the circuit board are located in the ceiling assembly. The return air grill and filter need to be removed to gain access to the circuit board box. Remove the cover and check the 110 wiring lugs for tightness, be sure to have unplugged the motorhome before doing this. While the grill is down, also check the mounting bolts and make sure they are tight also. there are 4 bolts holding the AC and the inside frame. The mounting bolts on all roof AC's should be checked yearly, no matter what age or brand the AC is.

CO detectors in RV's should be checked and replaced after 5-6 years. The sensors get bad. If you think your CO monitor has reached its age of replacement, you can buy a new one at your local RV dealership, or one of our Web Page sponsor dealerships.
If the roof seal is not checked yearly, the sealant can fail, allowing the fiberglass edge to come loose. If this happens while traveling the fiberglass roof material can tear off. This damage is not covered by warranty, as proper maintenance of sealants is the owners responsibility. This has happened. Please read the attached document from Winnebago for more details on what to check and how to make sure your roof stays in the best condition it can over time.
