Another weekend campout and another weekend where the weather cooperated with us. Campers started arriving Thursday Morning, and there was a fairly steady stream until everyone got there around Noon on Friday - including one late model Itasca Suncruiser owned by Marvin and Holly from Michigan who were just passing by and "dropped" into our campout - becoming guests for the night before they traveled on to their destination. In total, we had 12 rigs from across the state attend.

Ellis was more then gracious and as a town bent over backwards to make us feel welcome. Thursday evening the early arrivals had an impromptu group meal at Bo's Landing.  We had around 24 people that walked in to this restaurant.  We were all seated, the lone waitress took all our orders and our food was delivered fast and efficiently.

Friday morning we took a tour of the Ellis Railroad and Doll Museum which included a ride on their train. We were then invited to the Ellis Alliance office where they were waiting for us with coffee and breads.  Lunch found the group again dropping into Kevi Lee's restaurant where we again were treated with friendly home town service.  In the afternoon we went to the Country Lane Pumpkin Patch where we were able to pick our own pie pumpkins and took a tour of the pumpkin patch.  Some of the braver members went through the mazes that they have set up. Supper found the group at Arthur's Pizza and Mexican restaurant where we had a Mexican buffet.  The evening activities ended with a concert provided by the Victoria Community Band.  Prairie Winnies/High Plains Roamers members (and hosts) Neal & Joyce H belong to the band and joined in with the music which consisted of polkas and patriotic tunes.  A desert buffet followed with deserts provided by the Prairie Winnies/High Plains Roamers members.

Saturday started with an all you can eat breakfast buffet at old Fort Hays provided by the Hays Lions Club.  The club members were then set free to explore Hays on their own until club meetings which started @ 3:00pm.  Door prizes consisting of Presidential Dollars and Ice Cream Scoops sponsored by the Gorham State Bank  were handed out between club meetings.  Congratulations to the Votapkas, Perry's, Hudsons, Wellers, Crosbys, and Sills - the winners.  Supper of BBQ chicken and side dish pot luck followed the meetings.  The evening finished with card games and lots of visiting.

Sunday morning the club gathered for breads, fruit and coffee, then listened to services offered by Randall W.  Goodbyes were spread all around and the weekend came to an end.
